Five things I Learned About MacroMolecules

http://biomodel.uah.es/en/model3/index.htm

  1. Glucose is a 6-Carbon molecules (called a Hexose) of the aldose type.  Therefore glucose is a aldohexose.  Glucose's most stable shape is in the form of a ring.
  2. Starch is a polysaccharide that is present in plants such as potatoes, rice, or wheat.
  3. Amylose is a starch polysaccharide that has a tendency to form coils.

4. Amino acides have a primary aminogroup NH2 and a carboxyl group -COOH
5.  DNA is formed from the double helix formation of linked deoxyribonucleoside monophosphates.
